He was nervous about the smell and Felix, being the one in charge of keeping his mana "healthy" instructs him to breathe in, then out, then Mimi jumps in while he's still focused and keeps telling him to exhale and exhale, until he runs out of air. Because of how Subaru gets riled up when he's annoyed, the others laugh while he stomps around.

That's pretty much it.
