Wander grows horns at end. Has babies with Mono. Years later Ico is one of his descendants, goes on stand-alone quest that involves a different evil spirit that is similar to Dormin, they are both likely a being that is similar to an old school Japanese demon, which is why Dormin and the queen are so similar (black bodies, blue features, disembodied voices).

Kind of like how humans have eyes, a nose, 2 ears, etc. Whatever being that Dormin and the queen are, that's just what they look and sound like.

I can't imagine Ico having some ridiculous convoluted plot like the one anon1 is considering. It's all about simplicity.

But then again...this is a plot that wants you to fill in the gaps yourself. So likely any answer, no matter how strange, would be true.
