Quite easily, actually. All you have to do is press against the joints of someone's jaws and it'll pry open at least by a sliver. Further pressure on that will open the mouth even further; making it harder to close your mouth if you vice your thumb and index finger on opposite sides of the face.

From then it's a matter of how much the victim fights and how piss-scared they are. In this case, she's so horrified that she's frozen in place.
