RWBY has had indications it would get dark sooner or later. Lo and behold it has happened with the backstories of Cinder and her crew, the coma of the former fall maiden and now a Grimm attack which could kill a lot of people. This to me was evident from the start of the series and now it's just beginning to unfold.

Indications? Since the winter break every episode has had a link to one of Grey's posts that the show was about to get WAY darker.
I saw this scene coming since earlier this season, forget which part Really tipped it off, and they did choose the character with best possible out (head is intact too...).
