Apparently, this was the guy's first time, so he lost his virginity while he was asleep. No matter the situation, I'd hate for that to happen. You only get the negative effects of losing it, like the feeling of being used and the emptiness that you won't ever get that first time again. You don't get the positive effects, like the self-esteem boost of having finally lost it or even the new pleasure from it.

No-one's saying an erection is impossible during sleep; rather, some are saying that the lack of sensation ostensibly necessary to sleep through sex would prevent arousal.
Admittedly, morning wood might work for this, but you get that from having a full bladder, and having someone accidentally piss directly into one's body is likely unpleasant, assuming no fetishes for it come into play.
