METAL-Restrains, Man. These force even the most fierce, rebellious girls to behave!
They probably go nuts and throw a intense tantrum once they are locked into or wake up in it, but normally it takes not even a minute for them to realise their position and that struggling will only hurt them. So they are left with nothing but to accept their situation. Its a true cool-down device for their heads in every sense of the word!

she looks more "completely realising" in what for deep shit regarding helplessness she is in, comprehending that whoever is nearby her, might have his way with her - without her being able to do anything against it. Thats how she looks. Her "Oh Shit, I can not budge an inch"-face is real there.

Yes these restraints really shouldn't be able to hold Ranma, but don't forget that there is a canon way of explaining something like this. Simply say that This happened after somebody hit the moxibustion-point on Ranma. In the manga when her moxibustion point had been pressed, a three year old child send him/her flying with swat of their fist.
But yes, far to often these artist don't care about keeping things IC. This is actually a real problem, the reason for this being that if you make use of an established character, what is the point of using them in a scene if the character isn't in character? The character needs to be in character because not being in character makes the art shitty.
