That's one of the few things from the manga that were changed in the anime for apparently no reason....
In the manga, the Racist Couple's ''American Truck'' was actually a real fancy, high-end Chevy (I dare say a Chevy Silverado, based on the headlights' design) and in the anime, it got replaced by that non-descript 60-70s pick up. Why? It really makes no sense...

I never actually noticed the change, but if I had to pose a guess, I'd say it was done to better fit their character. One's a deadbeat thug implied to be in a gang, the other's a gyaru with so much makeup (that doesn't hide her leathery face) that she could pass for a couch, and both are shallow, hypocritical racists.
None of that really equals affording an expensive truck. Besides, in the end, the only thing those two are good for is getting the crap kicked out of them, so who cares if it's a nondescript 70s pick-up or a top-of-the-line Chevy as long as it gets blown up with them inside?
