Actually, very early on in the series (Alabasta Saga), after when Robin appears on the Merry following Igaram's supposed death, both Usopp and Sanji hold her at gunpoint.

Sanji only fights with his feet because he doesn't want to damage his hands (by hitting them against skulls). Firing a gun wouldn't do that so he has no reason not to use one.
