He is a dark-skinned muscular man with facial hair who was born on September 25, 1968 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as Willard Carroll Smith Jr. He began his career in 1985 as part of a hip hop duo, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. During this time, he was more known for the Fresh Prince moniker and he acted as the rapper of the duo. The duo were known for creating light-hearted and family friendly hip hop songs and became highly successful, winning two Grammy awards. In spite of their success, Will ran into trouble financially and got into trouble with the IRS. This financial crisis contributed to Will's decision to star in the 1990 sitcom inspired by his rap persona, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. The series was highly successful and started Will's transition from rapper to full-time actor, the career that he eventually became most famous for. After the series ended, he transitioned into film acting and from mid 1990s-late 2000s, experienced a golden streak where almost every film he had a lead role in was a box office smash hit. As an actor, he is most well known for playing Agent_J in the Men_in_Black film series, Mike Lowrey from Bad Boys film series, and Steven Hiller from Independence_Day. He often plays charismatic and quippy heroes. He was married to Sheree Zampino from 1992 to 1995 and had a son with her named Trey Smith, who notably appeared in the music video for Will's song, Just the Two of Us. Will married actress Jada Pinkett in 1997, and has remained with her since. With Jada, he had two children, Jaden and Willow Smith. The former became an actor and a rapper like his father while the latter became a model. He is known for frequently saying, "Aw, hell naw" in his films when his characters see something bad happening. In his rap songs, he often does a short laugh that sounds like "Ha-Ha!" or excitedly exclaims "Wooo!" He was the subject of a tribute song in 2020 titled "Will" by Joyner Lucas, which was accompanied by a music video that homaged Will Smith's career up to that point. Will Smith liked the song and participated in its remix, which acts as a response from Smith to Lucas's original song.
