Actually, they only treat their prey that way. That means you'll only kill rabbits in your home and only to eat it. :p
I'm no big fan of spiders either, i'm just no spider killer. If anything else, that spider is most likely very good at cleaning up your critter infestation. ;)

That's not 100% true. Some spiders kill to attract mates and obviously in self defense.
