Just think the author did a poor job w/ the swimsuit. Obviously a normal human one wouldnt work on a mermaid/lamia body, so thats why it looks so off/bad.

Yeah, that swimsuit idea sucks. And I believe she is a mermaid, which is why she's hanging around a pool. Probably looking for some lucky kid to spawn with!

Actually I could almost see the swimsuit working. This has plenty of wrong with it, but my idea for logic with the swimsuit is that it's like off to the side if that makes sense, like her tail is going through one of the leg holes, or whatever they're called. That's something I guess...

Or, the swimsuit works along the same lines as lamia/mermaid panties. and its not actual closed at the bottom, but instead is 'adhered' in some fashion to her body.
