it appears not so I'll gladly help you out
1 it's looks alone make it a bad ass just like houndoom
2 it has a mega form that's ability bounces back stats lowering moves like growl or leer to the enemy
3 it can learn Perish Song to kill those stubburn last enemies in your opponets team and special hint if you still have pokemon other then Absol at full health and that is his/her last pokemon just return your Absol and it won't be taken out by the move
4 it can learn moves as it levels up like Night Slash and Psycho Cut which have a high critical hit ratio
5 some of the awesome TM's it can learn are Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Rock Tomb, Aerial Ace, Shadow Claw, Thief, Attract (if you use it which I don't), and False Swipe (for those tricky to catch pokemon you don't want to faint)
and 6 most of those moves your opponet won't see comeing since it is a Dark type pokemon so if your opponet is being a jerk and thinking oh I'll use a bug or steel pokemon and take out your Absol easily think again because I'm going to aim a Flamethrower attack at it point blank range and smirk as it faints and your jaw hits the floor!
