Sadly we all know the canon pairing is Superman and Wonder Woman. After all they couldn't have that kid from that one anime series if they didn't hook up.

Which, before people crucify me, is the canon background for an actual character from a real show. In that she has superpowers because her dad is super (Superman) and her mom is wonderful (Wonder Woman). Literally, they're not even subtle about it.

As convoluted as comic storylines have become over the years, there's no such thing as THE canon -- it's only ever A canon specific to a particular title or show. I've read plenty of comics runs where the canon pairing is Superman/Lois Lane, and a handful where the canon (generally UST, but blatant about it) pairing is Wonder Woman/Batman. Just because Superman and Wonder Woman had a kid in one anime series doesn't make it THE canon pairing across all media. You can pretty much pick and choose which you prefer.
