Having watched the first 2 eps of this series.. Elves were mentioned as one of the 16 sentient races in this new world the MC's find themselves in.

Perhaps elves (who were said to have some of the highest affinity/skill for magic) are able to play games w/ people on earth, over what is comparable to a magic-based internet connection. And she said she wanted to meet the siblings as well. So that could be foreshadowing.
