Actually shaving the legs was still a thing back then, mostly among the higher class, admittedly but none the less still prevalent. Surprisingly it is also a fact that men of privilege would be more likely to shave in most medieval European societies than modern ones.

i'm w/ anon2 -- if you're a soldier, who has time/resources for something that's basically just cosmetic?
and yea, hair removal has been around forever, but the key point is that it's been around forever for highclass people -- the minority -- and in warm climates where they didnt wear much. people in colder places didnt care because not everyone was going to see their bare legs or pits or whatever. hair removal for everyone is a fairly recent idea.
