If you watch the episode, that's almost exactly what she's doing.

But jesus, some of the code there makes me wonder if she's rewriting the operating system...

It looks like she's developing using the Win32 API and writing a UI, but I'm pretty sure the program shown in the episode doesn't have a GUI, or a UI at all. Been a few years since I watched this episode though. Some of the comments in the code are pretty funny - is this the code from the actual episode?
