Yes, it is an actual anime series. I watched season one and two, and my recommendation would depend on what you are looking for. It's main focus is on ecchi and, although there is a storyline, it really isn't developed that much. It does have comedy and they have some decent characters as well. Personally, I liked watching it, but there was definitely room for improvement.
So, I would recommend it if you are looking for ecchi and don't mind the lack of expanding upon the story.

Recommendations are great, but what I would suggest doing is watching the first few of episodes and see if it's something that you would want to continue. That's normally what I do. I say a few episodes because I've dropped some anime after the first episode before, came back later, and ended up really liking them. Hopefully we've helped you out, even if only a little.

Sorry, I meant to type "Yes, it is in the actual anime series" not "Yes, it is an actual anime series". Also, @leatherhead93 I know, it's superb isn't it?! Must be a lot of frames per second because it looks so fluid and beautiful. Koneko is favorite, both here and in the series.

As for this GIF its from the credits of Season 1, one of the 2 sets of EDs. Season 2 did not give as great EDs. but the season 1 eds were worth watching every single time.
