i think i get it. this artist is famous for drawing girls pregnant by animals. this is the first time i seen him draw what i assume he would think a cross between a pig and a human would look like.

The characters in xenogears were created by a machine meant to repopulate a planet with flora+fauna, and often the fuckups are chimeras.

Seraphita in particular is a demihuman like Rico, and her entire race was wiped out by Solaris as undesirables. Ramsus saved her and brought her to Solaris because he saw her potential, which is why she's so devoted to him. (The other three Elements are more or less the same way.)
