Well, he's the strongest of his generation bar Toriko. And even Toriko would get trashed by Goku.
And the best is that Goku isn't even the strongest of his own generation. I'm pretty sure that would've been Seiya. Even Sailor Moon would trash Goku in a fight.
In the 90s everyone was too fucking strong.

Well here's an easy way to resolve it.
Put them both on the same level to start.
Martial arts: Goku
Energy attacks: Goku
Strategy: Tie
Utility: Goku(solar flare, flying, instantaneous transportation).
Then put them at their actual power levels.
In goku's fight with cell he had to teleport kameha, unless he'd blow up the planet.
Naruto even with the help of the kyubi, is only capable of destroying a small mountain.
Then take the opponents.
-Naruto's opponents are usually stronger than him, but due to poor strategy/planning and the "misunderstood factor" he wins every time.
-Goku's opponents past frieza(the major ones) are all capable of destroying the planet easily, but mainly choose not to do so for "honor" of sorts.
There you have it, 3 different areas which goku floors naruto.
People who still think Naruto has even the slightest chance vs goku are either in denial or have never seen DBZ and don't realize how ridiculous Goku is.

Why do people always compare characters from different FICTIONAL universes in a fight? Hell, if i write a story and the main character has godlike powers, what then? Will goku suddenly be a little pussy-whimp?
Lets try a new one: who would win in a fight? goku or gary oak?

You are correct: Saint Seiya is the strongest verse from that generation along with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (Gold Experience Requiem is fucking broken, yo) and both would beat Dragon Ball. Sailor Moon (both the character and the verse as a whole) would also beat Dragon Ball because SM is hax as hell. Ditto for Dark Schneider from Bastard!!

I mean I gee up with DBZ (first true anime I've watched) but I mean blowing up planets is the least effective way of determining strength as the characters only use their ki to do it, not their bare fists.
If any DBZ fan ever cared to read Naruto like I do, then you'd realize Naruto has a shot (no I am not saying he'd win, nor do I think he'd win) thanks two his two current power ups. His sage mode grants him enhanced speed, reaction time, durability, strength, and the ability to sense chakra (kinda useless against Goku XD). His Chakra cloak allows for long range, makes him the fastest living character without a special technique, increased durability, strength, and the ability to sense hatred/evil thoughts (also useless against Goku). Each also allow him to fight at long ranges, while the cloak allows him to use multiple versions and sizes of his Rasengan and can use the Tailed Beast Bomb. Alone these power ups are pretty damn good, but the kicker is he can combine them. Odds are that it doubles his already incredible speed, strength and durability plus gives him the reaction time of Sage mode, meaning he'll be able to dodge and block attacks. Naruto's clones are no longer fragile either, as it takes the clones willingness alone to disperse.
So yeah, Goku probably still wins in the end thanks to his more plentiful techniques (just to be clear, Instant Transmission isn't really movement speed, just teleportation) and overall more experience in combat. I'd say Goku would have to power up to at least SSJ2, very slim chance of SSJ3
