Tentacles are just an alternate version of the rape fantasy. And the main draw of the rape fantasy is the idea that you can experience any form of sexual gratification without shame since you didn't choose to experience it. Like the idea of brutal anal sex or S&M but are too prudish or scared to admit it because you're worried about other's opinions or it conflicts with your own moral/religious values? Rape fantasy saves the day. Not endorsing actual rape because actual rape is monstrous, but I don't think that the rape fantasy is inherently gender specific. Having said that I did not choose oral or anal sex to represent what men want simply because the entire purpose of sex (biologically speaking) is to reproduce, something that can only be done between two humans when one has a phallus and the other a vagina.
