Actually, Zygarde is more connected to the Midgard serpent that swallows Thor; jormungandr.

Jormungandr was a sea serpent. Nidhoggen, an underground serpent who is bound under the roots of Yggdrasil, fits Zygarde's profile more. And Jormungandr merely battles Thor during Ragnarok. While Thor managed to kill the beast, its poisonous spit and blood that made the sky rain during their battle came upon Thor, and he died after a mere few steps away from his killer.

This is Anon2.

You're right; it was Odin who was swallowed by Fenrir, not Thor... It's been a while since I've studied Norse mythology. I also checked bulbapedia, and it turns out Zygarde has connections to both serpents. So you're right there too.

Hm...so does that make anyone want to guess that perhaps a new Legendary introduced in "Pokemon Z" would at least be an Electric-type?

Who will be the "Odin/Thor" Pokemon that stands opposed to Zygarde, the one inspired by two different Norse mythical serpents?
