To be pedantic, a bug is a species by itself with piercing and sucking mouths. So insects are not bugs. Spiders are neither, simply being arachnids.

What all you (sophomoric) scholars are describing are Hemiptera – unsurprisingly known as "true bugs." The only problem is that the word "bug" is more commonly used to refer to any arthropod. For example... We use "cum," not "semen."
