Seriously if he just accept his death like Shun, or at least run away without leaving damn track Maria wouldn't need to sacrifice herself just to make sure he isn't lonely. She doesn't even love him romantically dammit. He didn't even try to reject her offer. He is just too selfish.

And if he didn't bang her,the fiend wouldn't born, and Squeler wouldn't had the WMD that cause load of death to both psychics and queerats alike.

Everything is at least partly his damn fault.
