Great observation, but cool picture none the less. I suspect it was done intentionally. Although Terra is the main character, Locke is the main male character.
Maybe they're his two favorite characters or maybe he wanted to capture the essence of the game.

...Well, then again, I did blow through FFVI, but....
Nevermind, practically every boss was easy for me. And once I got my grubby little paws on Ultima, the soul of Thamasa, and a tintinnabulum (fucking dinosaurs are practically impossible to steal from), Terra was easily capable of being a one-woman army. (Shame they nerfed her ability to equip practically anything in Dissida, though...)
On the art - I love it, canon or no canon.
