I really miss the days of Team Rocket in the games every other wannabe bad guy group since then have done nothing but try to make the world a better place through underhanded means. While they may have done things that affected the world more like when team magma and aqua woke up there targeted pokemon. Team Rocket was evil and didn't need to hide behind the mask of doing something for the greater good it was for themselves

you mean how now the criminals in the more recent games have actually depth and substance to the bad guys, instead of how they were originally in red and blue . just a random group of criminals that you had to beat? you nostalgia morons really confuse me sometimes

I see both of your points, but I agree with anon1. The original bad guys from red and blue were pure evil, not some pseudo-good guys that want to help the world by destroying it. Like Albert Wesker. Or Pain. Or whoever the fuck you want to name...

My opinion on the Evil Teams
Kanto and Jhoto - Random criminals.
Hoenn - Extremist Enviromentalists.
Sinnoh - Cyrus wanted to destroy the world for his own selfish reasons. If he managed to do that, everyone would die.
BW - They were tricked. They actually wanted to help others, but by the wrong means.
B2W2 - Wanted Revenge and to own Unova.

if you want to argue about substance in a pokemon game Anon 2 your going to get fucked. No one and nothing in the games has a decent backstory or motive. they were just sketches and you drew in the rest, and i agree with anon 1 team rocket was badass

I think Team Shadow/Team Cipher/Cipher from the Pokemon Gamecube series comes close second to being a evil group, they tried to convert pokemon to shadown pokemon to take over the world.

giovanni himself was total badass in his day. not ONLY was he both the final gym leader and secretly the head of the entire team rocket organization, but he ALSO was responsible for teaching mewtwo how to harness his powers.
In the manga, he EVEN had a part in rescuing Red from being trapped in ice.

in my opinion, Giovanni is the BEST "bad-guy" boss the pokemon universe had! ...not saying the others were terrible or anything, just givin' praise where it's needed :3
