Admittedly I don't know the show, I'm just going off screens of it, so maybe there's some explanation there.

From what I've seen of the show, I'd say she's definitely a newhalf. Episode five strongly seems to supports this (I believe Kon even used the term a few times in the episode to describe her).

A trap it technically may be, but most traps don't undergo surgery to gain their girly appearance, as that would be cheating, and would besmirch the idea of having a trap in the first place.

Not all transsexuals get surgury. Many merely undergo hormone replacement Therapy. And there's nothing wrong with a trap getting surgury to look more feminine, though chances are they wouldn't go that far unless they were transgender.
