Ah, as it happens this is from Nisemonogatari, first episode of the "Tsukihi Phoenix" arc (so episode seven or eight?).

Synopsis: Karen wants to meet Kanbaru, and Koyomi puts her to the test to see if she's "worthy." The test happens to be incredibly compromising and both parties get carried away until Tsukihi walks in on them. After assessing the situation, she dashes off at top speed "to get an awl from the convenience store." (If you don't get why this is important, ask yourself why Kotonoha wants a kitchen knife)
