You shouldn't be afraid of sharks. Granted they are dangerous, but u can easily avoid them. Sharks have bad eyesight and rely completely on scent of blood and movement. If u get bitten, just don't lose alot of blood. What u should REALLY be afraid of are Stonefish and Jellyfish! They can poison and paralyaze u to death in less than 10mins! Have fun at the beach. :-)

^ Man, you need to read up on subjects before you start talking. Most sharks that are big enough to be willing to bite a person are going to do a LOT of damage when that happens. A great white, like the one in the picture is going to cause life threatening injuries. Also sharks use smell largely for long range hunting, then add their relatively good sense to that once prey is close enough.

Also, "just don't lose a lot of blood"? It's not like a person can easily control how much blood they lose. If that were the case, nobody would ever bleed to death from anything.

Now, Stonefish are actually dangerous, but not ALL jellyfish can "poison you to death in less than ten minutes." I've been stung by jellyfish before. Does it sting like a bitch? Yes. Was I in need of medical attention beyond a spray to relieve the stinging? No. Mind you, I was stung over most of my torso, too.

I've also seen a shark while I was swimming, though, thankfully, it was pretty small, and already dead. Didn't stop me from jumping when I saw that face pointed in my direction, though.

Fun fact: Accidental bites are a fucking lie, many species of sharks actually have a specific hunting pattern for humans.
