in response to anon1: First, it depends on where you live. Some places are just cold any time of the year. Second, this would definitely cause people to have wrong thoughts. Third, not everyone looks good naked. Fourth, answering the door would be a problem. Fifth, sweat. Your clothes are washable, the couch isn't so much.

In response to Dirty_Harry: First, in this modern era we live in we have these things called central heating and air conditioning. It doesn't matter where you live. Second, anyone who has grown up as a nudist doesn't have those so-called "wrong thoughts" about naked bodies you so inelegantly postulated they'd all have. Have you ever actually watched a group of nudists hanging out? Children, adults, and old folks? Not a single guy walks around with a boner and nobody looks at anyone else's junk. Third, not everyone looks good naked? That's really fucking shallow, and the complete opposite of what being a nudist is all about. Fourth, um, put on a robe to answer the door? Fifth, again, air conditioning?
Man, did you even think about what you sounded like while you were typing this drivel out? You clearly need to educate yourself on how nudists live.

^ Truth...except most Japanese homes don't have central heat and air, they just tough it out with the help of fans and kotatu. You get used to it quickly and it can be very comfortable. (Speaking from experience.) The appearance of people young and old never bothered me nor am I bothered by "wrong thoughts", even when skinny-dipping with teenage girls. Since I took a shower right after work I never had to worry about about washing the couch. My cat with all its fur did worse to my furniture than me.
I'd also like to point out the importance of an apron when you're cooking. It's not just for show, it becomes a safety issue when you're nude.
