This is a woman who truly knows her place. The key hanging around her neck gives her the physical ability to escape her bondage any time she wishes. She's not just here because she wants to be - she's here because she knows her place as a slave, and she will obey her orders despite her own feelings on the matter.

So, she sits for hours in her display case; totally naked to the eyes of any man of woman who glances in her direction. The solitude, loneliness, boredom, and discomfort are painful, yet she, as a slave, knows that these things are all part of her life. For nothing brings her more joy than to be a slave, her entire body and soul a mere object. A tool to the whims of men.

A slave's life is that of loneliness, pain, and endless waiting. So, she will wait. The keys may be physically within her reach, but she can never touch them.
