Great in theory, horrible in practice.
Nobody can hope to fire a rifle effectively or accurately on horseback- not even the horse.

I'm afraid you don't know your history very well. It usually wasn't to fire from horseback but to get from place to place quickly and get to a position from which you can fire on the enemy. And in this case I guess it would be more of a mounted barrage than that kind of fighting. Looks like a musket anyways.

Anon 2 is right. That asside firing from horseback is entirely possible. It was done for a hundred years, and today its still practiced in some third world countries as well as being a sport in the western world.
Is a nice picture anyway.
