Well technically her nickname, like everyone else's in the group, is a pair of syllables from her family and given names put together. ANjou NARUko gives you "Anaru," which unfortunately also happens to be Engrish for a type of alternative sexual intercourse.

Funny story: my high school music teacher's daughter had a similar incident where she nicknamed herself "Clit."
