^ Holy shit! I looked it up and found it. The runes are Elder Futhark used for writing Proto-Norse. It says "lafteini" or "Lævateinn", a weapon mentioned in the Poetic Edda poem Fjölsvinnsmál.
Suposedly it was the sword forged by Völundr, and is the same one as Freyr gave away to gain Gerðr. It was originally meant to slay Loki but failed. (They tied him with chains instead.) It will also be used to split the world in half at the end of days. (Ragnarök) This is basically the Sword of the Gods.
