I see that the series has finally given up and has embraced self-parody.
I wonder what the mangaka thinks about the perversion the anime adaptation inflicted on the original, that is, if they have enough time to get their hands out of their pants.

They (the writer, at least) expressed happiness when they first announced the anime, but I seriously can't fathom that he's too proud of what came of it once they started deviating from the source material. Even if the opinion has soured by the time the second season rolled around, I'm sure they wouldn't voice it, because it really doesn't hurt them in the end. After all, watching the anime is what got me into reading the (by far superior) manga.
