What people fail to understand is that this is an excellent art piece. It depicts the very human, bodily struggle that one has to suffer through when attacked by mosquitoes. I personally have had numerous simultaneous bites on my body at one point, and this pretty much expresses exactly how I felt at the time. It itches, but you can’t scratch the area because it WILL get worse. It feels like despite having hands and despite knowing that scratching will temporarily bring a feeling of relief, it will worsen your situation significantly right after. Even the rubbing of clothes against your body can cause that effect, which is precisely why the nudity here speaks to me. You truly do feel like your hands are sharp objects that harm your body, yet you desperately struggle not to use them on your own skin. You feel like there is no escape from your suffering, like you’re trapped in a box. You feel your bare skin completely exposed to the mosquitoes and their bites. You just can’t stand it but there is nothing you can’t do! It’s a mental and bodily anguish and a fight against your own impulses!
This is excellent. It’s true art.
