People do this alot and I know certain people get tired of seeing it. but my interpretation of this pictures depiction and interpretation is--
Hakurei Reimu IS (Un)Legendary Miko who fought with her bare fists(as the minute backstory goes?) and Yukari apparently as she's always intervening with Reimu was always around the (H.Miko) and grew attached far different than she is in whatever iteration of the stories told now.
Whatever happened(Probably the introduction of spell cards) caused something(domino effect) to (H.Miko) which either made her leave(or killed her? doubtful but I dunno much about touhou or it's canon/fanon characters other than common knowledge.).
Either way Yukari not wanting to just PART like that and apparently not being able to follow messes with gaps bringing little Hakurei (Reimu as possibly the original's name Surname or nickname) in creating a sort of Madoka Magica type deal where no matter what happens Hakurei always ends up leaving and Yukari always reaches into the gap for the (Young) Reimu.
Could explain why Hakurei Miko actually has no name. Unless Miko is actually her name which is really far too ironic for me and now my Fan Rationale ability has shut down.
