Now Viewing: impaTag type: Character A recurring supporting character from The_Legend_of_Zelda and one of the few supporting characters to make more than one appearance in the series. Like Link and Zelda, each incarnation of her is technically a different person even though all Impas are referred to as Impa. She debuted in the original Legend of Zelda where she was depicted an old woman/nursemaid of Princess Zelda who informs Link of Zelda's plight. She appeared in the first and second Zelda games in this old woman form. She was brought back in Ocarina of Time, which depicted Impa as a younger and physically athletic woman with darker skin and pointy ears who is one of the last members of the Sheikah tribe. From this point on, there were two main depictions of Impa. In some games, she is portrayed as an old woman who is incapable of combat and works as Zelda's attendant/nursemaid. The younger incarnations of Impa are portrayed as Zelda's bodyguards and are very capable of combat. She is a playable character in the Zelda spinoff game Zelda_Musou, in which she wields a giant sword, and like all Musou playable characters, is powerful and skilled enough to take on entire armies singlehandedly.
