I'm not sure when the format was changed, but currently, all videos seem to be missing volume control.
There's only the option to mute or unmute videos with sound, but no bar to adjust the sound-level.

As a result, all videos are incredibly quiet, necessitating an increase in system volume, essentially blasting all sound to the max, just to be able to hear the videos on this site.

Is there a way to fix this?

What is your browser, the version of said browser, and OS?

The browsers ripped out the default webm's volume slider, sites have to provide it with a player now.

chrome://flags/#enable-modern-media-controls

Set to disabled and restart Chrome.

Literally the only site I've seen this happen on.

Disabling "New Media Controls" worked, thanks for that.

Chrome seems to have updated their browser and removing those controls from the built-in video player, I don't know why.

Also, in case you haven't noticed, we lower the volume in all videos with sound by default. You will have to turn the volume up using the volume control in the lower right of the video player.
