According to the forum referenced in the above link (danbooru.donmai.us/forum/show/58344) Danbooru uses the English name for all Pokemon creatures, but they no longer do tag aliases, but let the others who keep on top of Pokemon do tag edits without starting threads.

In this case, the tag edit on Danbooru for this is already complete, so I'll make the tag edit now. But because of this new approach on Pokemon tag updates by Danbooru's admin, we may have to adapt the same one since these edits no longer require thread notifications be made for them.

The tag hyakki_yakou is ambiguous. It's an artist tag on danbooru (with 1 image): danbooru.donmai.us/artist/show/80017 , and also refers to a game by sano_toshihide (with 73 images).


Which one gets renamed?

I vote to rename the game tag as the Danbooru tag usually takes precedence and also because Danbooru doesn't have tag for this game, so that gives us more freedom to rename that one.

Also, it seems there are two games under the name hyakki_yakou, so if we did change the tag for the game, maybe using the artist's name as a qualifier would be a good idea. Or use the game company as the qualifier, in this case, G.J? (the ? is part of the company name).

There's a similar problem for the artist sd (danbooru.donmai.us/artist/show/84915) and the shorthand for "super deformed".

They use the chibi tag instead of either sd or super_deformed.

I can't tell if the artist goes by two names or not, but gelbooru does not have either names as a tag. Maybe I'm tagging it improperly, not to sure.
