Whatever happened to that image?

There was an image of Krystal from Star Fox and Sally Acorn from Sonic the Hedgehog being tentacle-raped, but I can't find it anymore. Was it removed? If so, why? I couldn't see anything wrong with it.

It does seem to have been removed. There's no way for me to tell you why without finding the post, though, which isn't something I can really do if it's been removed. There isn't any way to search for deleted posts, after all.

The only thing that I would know of that would make it against the ToS is if it was found out later (when I went to check it, there wasn't that issue) that it was drawn by a western artist, but is that rule still so rigid? I'm referring to this one: furry.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=86426

non-Japanese artist:

According to the mod commentary. It certainly doesn't look like it is Japanese either.

Such images can be restored since the rules against this have been made more lax, but I don't think furry images get this exception often.

The rules haven't actually been made any more lax. What happened was that the moderation team was given the ability to grant exceptions to the rules for images that are high-quality and on-topic.

The image you linked would probably be deleted for being low-quality even if it were by a Japanese artist, so it's unlikely to get one of these exceptions.

I'm not sure, but this is what I'd call "lax"
